The Working Party was established in 2003 when small groups of interested BHS members
were formed to deliver specific projects on behalf of the Executive Committee.

Remit:
•
To provide information for health care professionals about hypertension
o BP Measurement DVD and
Posters
o ACD Algorithm Poster
o Factfiles
•
To provide guidelines and web-based timely updates in response to new trial evidence
•
To produce Factfiles on the management of hypertension in special situations
•
To develop a strategy, manage and support the Information Service to ensure that
it delivers on the above
Current Activities:
•
A quarterly Newsletter is circulated to members, members of the ISH and
GPSIs. Members are encouraged to submit articles on:
o Topics of interest/debate
o Local news
o Personal achievements
o Educational activities
•
The development of guidelines for the management of hypertension and related cardiovascular
diseases as a Stakeholder with NICE and in association with the Joint British Societies
•
The organisation of BHS Live! events to present new trial data
